	Ìró ohùn ni òpó èdè Yorùbá.	Yoruba is a "tonal" language.(The tone is the pillar of the
	Ó ÿe pàtàkì púpõ láti máa fi àmì	Yoruba language).It is very important to insert accent
	sí orí àwôn fáwëêlì õrõ tí a bá kô	marks on words written in the Yoruba language,
	ní èdè Yorùbá, kí a sì tún yán àwôn	and to place a dot under the letters that require it.

	Àmì mëta ni a þ sábàá lò ní èdèe Yorùbá. Àwôn ni		Three intonation marks are commonly used in Yoruba. They are:

	1. Àmì ohùn òkè ( )		1. The acute accent mark ( )
	2. Àmì ohùn ìsàlê ( ) àti		2. The grave accent mark ( )
	3. Àmì ohùn àárín ( ).		3. The middle tone accent mark ( )

	Õnà tí ó rôrùn láti fi kö pípe õrõ pêlú àwôn àmì yìí ni tí a bá fi wé dídún-un mëta nínú àwôn ohùn tí a þ fi dùrù tàbí pianó tê. Àwôn ohùn náà ni		The easy way to learn how to pronounce words with these accent marks is to compare them with three of the tones played on the Organ or Piano. These are:

	dò re mí		do re mi

	A kì í sábà fi àmì ohùn àárín ( x ) sórí õrõ àfi lëêkõõkan lórí i ñ tàbí ð nígbàtí wön bá fara jô fáwëêlì.		The middle tone mark is rarely placed on letters of the alphabet except ocassionally on n and m .
